Riding with Hennepin EMS: A Recruitment Video Worth Watching

Mediamazing was brought in to produce a recruitment video for Hennepin EMS — the men and women responding to emergencies across Minneapolis every single day. To tell that story authentically, we went where they go. We rode along in the field, cameras rolling, capturing real emergencies as they unfolded in real time.
There's No Substitute for Being There
Recruitment videos live or die on authenticity. A slick studio production can showcase a logo and a mission statement, but it can't show someone what it actually feels like to do this job. By embedding ourselves with the Hennepin EMS team in the field, we captured the urgency, the professionalism, and the genuine human impact of their work in a way that scripted content simply can't replicate.
A Team That Loves What They Do
One of the things that struck us most during production was what happened when we sat down with individual team members for interviews. You can't fake what we saw. Person after person lit up talking about their work — the passion was immediate, genuine, and impossible to miss. That kind of enthusiasm doesn't need to be coached or coaxed. Our job was simply to capture it, and it comes through in every frame.
Combining Field Footage with Their Own
In addition to our own field footage, we incorporated video that the Hennepin EMS team had captured themselves — giving the final product an even deeper, more immersive look at life on the job. Blending both sources created a richer, more complete picture of what it means to serve with this team.
An Honor to Document
We don't take it lightly when organizations trust us to tell their story — and that's especially true here. The work Hennepin EMS does in Minneapolis is extraordinary, and getting a front-row seat to it was genuinely humbling. These are people showing up for their community at its hardest moments, and this video gives prospective recruits an honest, unfiltered look at what that calling looks like.
